Explore our collection of wall ovens with combination microwaves to find the ideal fit for your home. Make sure you check the cutout specifications for the appliance you choose and follow the installation guide to be sure it fits in your space. Our microwave & oven combinations include both oven and microwave models in a variety colors, styles and finishes that can be incorporated into any decor. Look for features like simple and easy controls and a power cook function and a built-in self-cleaning feature to cut down on time.

Convenience

A built in microwave oven combo can save space on your kitchen counters and provide a modern appearance to your kitchen. Because it functions as a microwave and traditional oven it is able to heat leftovers, frozen food items and pre-packaged meals in one appliance. It removes the need for separate countertop appliances or large wall ovens. If you are looking to upgrade your home without having to undertake major changes, a microwave and a convection oven is a great choice.

Microwave oven combos can be found in many different styles to fit your kitchen decor. Some microwave oven combos feature doors that swing open from right to left or drop-down designs that open the same way as traditional ovens. There is also microwave ovens with a drawer style that opens in the same way as an open cabinet. Microwave drawers can be easily accessible and are perfect for small spaces.

Combination microwaves also have various features that simplify meal preparation and make it more convenient. Some models have a sensor steam mode that adjusts the temperature and time of your food automatically to ensure you get perfect steamed fish and vegetables. Other features include a broil element that lets you quickly melt cheese or cook your favorite food, as well as Crispwave(tm) technology that can grill or bake food and make it crisp.

When choosing a microwave combination, make sure to take into consideration how often you'll use each function. If you'll be using the oven component of your combo more frequently than the microwave, you may be better off with a double wall oven instead. A combo oven has less capacity than a standalone oven.

Once you've decided on an oven and microwave combination to satisfy your needs, think about the installation procedure. Over-the-range models are mounted over your stove or cooktop and connect to an electrical outlet, while built-in microwaves can be plugged directly into cabinets or walls of your kitchen. Some models include trim kits to match your new microwave to your existing cabinets.

Energy Efficiency

A built in microwave oven combo is an excellent space-saving option for those who have smaller kitchens, whether they are in a house or an apartment. They can save on cabinet space that would otherwise be occupied by two separate appliances and they also can help reduce energy usage. They generally provide the most efficient cooking method than traditional wall ovens, because they use less energy. They can also be used to cook warm and hot dishes, reducing the need for additional appliances like toasters or warming plates.

DOE conducts a variety of analyses when evaluating the possibility of amending energy conservation standards. These include market and technology assessments screening analyses, engineering analyses and a national impact assessment (NIA). In this SNOPR, DOE will rely on its existing engineering analysis of microwave ovens to determine the highest level of improvements in efficiency that are technologically feasible for this product category.

DOE will compare the design of a microwave with a set energy performance objectives in the engineering analysis. The engineering analysis will then determine the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible based on the most advanced microprocessor-controlled model available on the market or in working prototypes, or the maximum reduction in energy consumption that is technically achievable with the current technologies available for this product class.

As part of the NIA, DOE will evaluate the effects on consumers for each product class, including lifecycle cost savings and simple payback period ("PBP"). DOE will employ its Government Regulatory Impact Model with an adaptation for microwave ovens to calculate industry net present value ("NPV").

The impact of manufacturers will be assessed as well as the impact on manufacturers will be evaluated. DOE will use an updated version of its Industry Cash Flow model that has been modified for this product type to calculate manufacturing NPV. DOE will also consider the impacts of these plans on small-scale businesses as well as other manufacturing subgroups to identify those who could be most affected.

DOE will also look into whether the test procedure for microwave ovens has to be revised to include active mode power consumption and a possible integrated energy use measure. Currently,  built in microwave grill  address the standby mode power usage.

Design

Wall ovens are based on the circulation of hot air evenly while microwaves make use of waves to cause water molecules in food to vibrate and generate heat. Combination wall units combine these two appliances into one unit, saving space in the kitchen and providing a modern and sleek design. You must carefully think about your budget and needs before investing in a combination wall oven. Some of the ovens we rated have performance or design issues.
